Corn Crib
I used to pass this corncrib several times a week. It always
seemed, after the fall harvest, its walls bulged a little more at the
overabundance of a successful crop. The old building seemed to exhibit
a sense of pride in the accomplishment of its owner….
A few weeks ago, I was astonished to see the building had been
razed. In it's place, additional furrows, plowed obviously to plant
more crops. Off on the horizon, a new metal structure took its place.
I wonder if the owner appreciated this old building, and I mumble
under my breath at "progress & profitability" once again….
